Christophe Plantin (ur. między 1514 a 1520, zm. 1589) - jeden z najsłynniejszych drukarzy Odrodzenia, księgarz i introligator. W 1555 r. założył w Antwerpii oficynę wydawniczą znaną jako Officina Plantiniana.
W wyniku zatargu z cenzurą Plantin zmuszony był zamknąć drukarnię, po
czym powrócił do Paryża. Do Antwerpii powtórnie wraca w roku 1563 i
wznowił tu działalność drukarską. Na szeroką skalę wykorzystywał
ilustracje drzeworytowe i miedziorytowe w wydawanych przez siebie
dziełach, głównie naukowych i religijnych, najsłynniejsze z nich to Biblia polyglota wyd. w latach 1569 - 1573.
Po śmierci Plantina firmę przejął J. Moretus, a w XVII wieku
miedziorytów dostarczali firmie między innymi tak sławni artyści, jak Rubens i Rembrandt. Officina Plantiniana istniała do 1876 roku.
