 Kalkreuter (Calcidius) Bartłomiej – ur. w Krośnie Śląskim. Studiował w Wittenberdze i na uniwersytetach włoskich, tam też zdobył doktorat z medycyny. Po powrocie z Italii otrzymał stanowisko fizyka miejskiego w Żaganiu. W 1563 r. przeniósł się do Elbląga na taki sam urząd i pełnił go aż do śmierci w 1586 r. Przez półtora roku (1566-1567) był rektorem Gimnazjum Elbląskiego. Prawdopodobnie zajmował to stanowisko w zastępstwie do czasu aż władze miejskie wyszukały odpowiedniego pedagoga, zdatnego do kierowania szkołą.
