Kupcy i browarnicy należeli do jednej ze znakomitszych rodzin elbląskich. Najstarszy ze znanych nam przedstawicieli tego rodu Dominick – w latach 1603 – 1635 sprawował funkcję pisarza sądu ziemskiego. Kolejni – w XVII stuleciu zasiadali w II Ordynku i radzie miejskiej. Jako pierwszy z tego rodu najwyższą godność miejską – urząd burmistrzowski pełnił Fabian Horn (1681-1692), kolejny – Michael Heinrich (1739-1753).
